TORONTO BLUE JAYS SOCIAL MEDIA BUZZ: Getting Cheesy, Looking Fine and Making Dreams Come True

The Toronto Blue Jays Add Grilled Cheese to the Menu, Celebrate Cars and Legends and Grant Wishes

We scoured social media to bring you the best the internet has to offer with this collection of Blue Jays Social Media Buzz.

Just as the weather is starting to heat up, so are the Blue Jays, sweeping a critical series with the Yankees and taking the first of their series with the Red Sox last night. The team is really starting to gel and you get the feeling that they are enjoying their jobs immensely right now.

New Kid on the Block (of Cheese)

Bullpen newbie Jason Grilli wasted no time embracing his new team this week.

And the team and fans were ready to welcome him with open arms!

Some even giving him helpful tips on where to get his fill of grilled cheese in the 6ix!

And it didn’t hurt that The Players’ Tribune dug up this little nugget from the reliever’s past:

The inspiration behind that being his father, Steve Grilli, who pitched 2 1/3 innings for the Jays in 1979. The Syracuse Bar-owner does color work for the Syracuse Chiefs and is a mighty proud dad, spoke to Jeff Blair recently about his son’s new assignment.

This guy right here. ☝?#salute #bigcheese #tbt #mlb

They’re Fans, Too!

Drew Storen busted out a new shirt to celebrate Indianapolis 500 and show some love for his friend and Drive Connor Daly.

Russell Martin spent a little time with defenceman for his favourite hockey team the Montreal Canadiens, PK Subban, when he took BP with the team recently (sporting a #76 Subbanator Jays jersey, natch). They worked on a new handshake – although it may need a little more practice…

He also took time to honor Muhammad Ali, who passed away at the age of 74 at a Phoenix hospital Friday after an illness.

New ‘Do, New You

Okay, so this is more of an “old ‘do” but it’s new to us! Josh Donaldson shows us where his hair inspiration comes from…

While in New York, Marcus Stroman, a Staten island native, took some time to visit his favorite barbershop for a fresh new cut

HALO part.??

And the perfect thing to go with a fresh cut? Jordans.

While, of course, always Reppin’ the 6ix!

Multi-sport Athetes

Perhaps inspired by the NBA Finals, the guys have added another sport to their warm-up repertoire

I bet those guys fueled up with a nutritious breakfast first. Jose Bautista has some recommendations…

Making Wishes Come True

Superman himself proved recently why he’s so super – and not just in the outfield. He spent time May 31 with one of his biggest fans, Ashley, who is a Wish Kid

In the Spotlight

Jose Bautista shared some deep insight with Sports Illustrated that shine a light on his personality:

Josh Donaldson sat down with Tim and Sid to talk baseball and video games. And laugh. A lot.

That’s just a taste of some of the moments in Blue Jays social media this week! Enjoy the long weekend and #GoJaysGo!
