TORONTO BLUE JAYS SOCIAL MEDIA BUZZ: It’s Never too Soon to Prepare for Winter (Joey Bats to the Rescue)

The Toronto Blue Jays Up The Ante on a Solid August

We scoured social media to bring you the best the internet has to offer with this collection of Blue Jays Social Media Buzz.

The Jays are in a back and forth battle for first in the east with the Orioles, so their minds are firmly on baseball right now. But that still doesn’t stop them from doing a little business…

Work Work Work Work Work

While some of the Jays spent their recent off day relaxing on the water, like Jason Grilli,

Letting the wind blow through the sails on this beautiful off day! ????

Others were out and about supporting the community and introducing new collaborations.

Jose Bautista finally launched his project with Canada Goose

Here’s the much-awaited jacket. And although it seemed a little odd to be debuting a cold-weather item in the midst of a terrible heat wave, reaction was nothing but positive – and winter will be here before you know it!

In honor of the occasion, Canada Goose hosted a launch party that was well-attended by Jose’s teammates and friends.

Meanwhile, Russell Martin spent his off day where he spends his work days – at the Rogers Centre. But this time, he wasn’t playing cards in the clubhouse, but right out on the playing field. It was the inaugural 55 Poker Classic, a fun fundraiser in which fans who purchased tickets got to rub shoulders with high rollers from the team and beyond all in the name of raising funds for the Jays Care Foundation.

(Russ wearing shades at the table like a poker pro!)

Of course Stroman popped by, too (I wonder if he caught a ride with Jose?)

Check out the hardware Josh Donaldson won in high school!

And if there were an award for most fan-friendly member of the team, this week it would have to go to Roberto Osuna. He is always willing to hang out with fans for a few moments after games and pose for photos. It’s a minute of his time, but a forever memory for those Jays fans.

300 and 16!

Even though the guys didn’t pull out the win last night, Edwin Encarnacion reached a special milestone.

As did JA Happ on August 10 (the first in MLB to reach 16 wins).

That’s just a taste of some of the moments in Blue Jays social media this week! The guys take on the Astros today at 1:07 p.m. If you’re going to the game, be aware of this change in activities just posted by the Jays:

Try to stay cool, have a great weekend and #GoJaysGo!
