TORONTO BLUE JAYS SOCIAL MEDIA BUZZ: Picture Day, Juice Bars and Video Games Galore

The Toronto Blue Jays are back on the field, in the sunshine and mugging for cameras all over Spring Training Camp in Dunedin, Florida!

Baseball is back and all is right with the world again. And while Blue Jays fans are already cursing the field in Dunedin, which has already claimed one Josh Donaldson‘s calf, the future for this team still looks very bright.

We scoured social media to bring you the best the Internet has to offer in this collection of Toronto Blue Jays Social Media Buzz.

This one photo sums up how Blue Jays fans are feeling right now…

…just happy to be back with Bae again. Bae-seball, that is.

Spring Training is ON

Today was Photo Day in Dunedin – which means, of course, a lot of horsing around from guys who would rather be out in the sunshine getting some dirt on their nice clean uniforms.

Jason Grilli led the pack. He’s calling People Magazine out for missing a couple of candidates for Sexiest Man Alive…

Marcus Stroman teamed up with the Players’ Tribune to do his own thang for photo day – and it was every bit a StroShow as you’d think.

 Work That Body

Just because they’re back in the clubhouse and doing “baseball” things on the fields doesn’t mean players aren’t still getting those workouts in behind the scenes as well – toning and tightening everything to prepare their bodies for the 162-game grind ahead.

Jason Grilli gave a shout-out to his trainer, who he says has kept his body in peak condition for over 15 years!

Ryan Tepera was getting his workout on, too.

Ain’t your typical 9-5 #NoOffseason #BlueJays

And Melvin Upton Jr. is hitting up all kinds of outside sources to ensure he’s in peak condition.

Sometimes working the body is also about what you put into it. But don’t tell that to Stroman, who was loading up on McDonald’s breakfast – maybe he needed a carb load or something…

Maybe the young pups can handle that type of diet. But noted foodie, health nut and now 34 year-old catcher Russell Martin strayed a little farther from the golden arches, opting for a little healthier fare…

And then there’s the also health-conscious (and 36 year-old) Jose Bautista, who goes straight to the source and catches his own food.

All Work and No Play…

Spring Training is a time to get serious, but also have a little fun while the season slowly gets underway. Roberto Osuna got to mix business with pleasure recently, helping promote MLB The Show Canada.

I had a great time shooting with @mlbtheshow for @playstationCA. Get your copy on March 28th. #ad #theshow17

He wasn’t alone – fellow pitcher Aaron Sanchez was hanging, too. Sanch has the honor of being the Cover-athlete for the 2017 Canadian version. That’s a lot of spare jerseys there…how strenuous was that photo shoot?

No worries if you thought they were working him too hard, though – he got a chance to kick back a little too… (PS – I think the pillow is trying a little TOO hard to set the right “Canadian” tone. I mean, the beaver holding the flag really says it all…)

Not to be outdone in the cover model competition, Kevin Pillar was announced as the Canadian Cover-athlete for RBI Baseball 2017.

Josh Donaldson had some fun and worked to expand his mind by learning a little Chinese in the training room, where he’s likely to be spending a lot of his time while at Spring Training now.

Today I attempted to learn Chinese. ?#mindexpansion

You can also have fun ON the field – as demonstrated by Ezequiel Carrera

Happy Birthday Devon Travis!

Several players celebrate birthdays while in Dunedin and today it was Devon Travis’ turn. In his selfless way, he had a message for Blue Jays fans:

Note to Fans…

Apparently Dalton Pompey is having a bit of an identity crisis. It seems that the autograph seekers hanging around the Spring Training complex in Dunedin continue mistaking him for another outfielder…

He’s issued fair warning on Twitter: If you call him Jose Bautista, you’re getting a Jose Bautista “autograph!” Better hope those folks looking to make some cash on an autographed ball or photo don’t make that mistake…LOL

That’s it for this edition of Toronto Blue Jays Social Media Buzz! The Blue Jays’ first Spring Training game is at 1:05 p.m. this Saturday. Have a great week and #GoJaysGo!
