Well, Triple-A Buffalo Bisons remain winless in 2018. Their record remains 0-0 but Mother Nature definitely won the season’s opening series. They will now head to Pawtucket with their fingers crossed they can play some baseball.

The Blue Jays managed to get 3 games in the books, finishing a perfect 3-for-3.

The Lansing Lugnuts scored 6 runs despite collecting just 2 hits and New Hampshire is now 3-0.

Player of the Day

POD Honourable Mention:

  • Joshua Palacios 3-for-5 with a double, a SB, and 2 RBI
  • Kacy Clemens 3-for-5 with a HR, 2R, 2RBI, 2BB, and K

Sunday, April 8th’s POD goes to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Sean Reid-Foley.

The 22-yr-old RHP from Jackson, Florida had a character building season in 2017. Through his first three starts, Sean managed to pitch 3 innings just once.  In his first start of 2017, he allowed a run on 3 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts over 1.2 IP on just 37 pitches. In the opening month of the season, SRF made 5 starts and made it past the 5th inning once.

SRF did not have a single start, lasting greater than 5IP with less than 3 hits. He had three starts where he pitched 6 and 7 shutout innings.

So, it is very encouraging to see SRF shut down the Yard Goats offense over 6 strong innings, allowing just a bunt single to Hartford’s first batter of the game.

SRF finished with a game score of 75.

He threw 84 pitches, 52 strikes while generating 4 groundball outs and 5 flyball outs.

He struck out the side in the 4th and finished his day by striking out Sam Hilliard to end the 6th and Garrett Hampson on 2nd base.

Bo and Vlad Show

Bo Bichette

Bo had the day off from the field, DH’ing and batting 2nd. He went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.

Bichette is batting .333 with 2 R, 6H, a double, 2 RBI, BB, 4K, and 2 SB.

Vladimir Guerrero

Vladdy grounded into a double in the 1st and 6th, and grounded out to third in the 4th. With 2-outs and nobody on the 8th, Vladdy sent his first Double-A homer over the wall in left-center field to push the game to 4-2 in favor of the good guys.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr is batting .200 with 4R, 3H, a pair of doubles, a HR, 2RBI, 3 BB, and K.
