SRF and Conor Fisk combined to hold Hartford to 6 hits and 2 runs while needing just 107 pitches. SRF finished with 9 ground ball outs and 5 fly ball outs. The strikes outs were a little low but the efficiency, 50 strikes on 75 pitches, was very very encouraging.

POD Honourable Mention:

  • Dunedin’s Logan Warmoth had three singles and scored a run in the loss. The 22-yr-old bumped his batting average from .133 up to .206.
  • New Hampshire’s LF Connor Panas with 3 singles. The 25-yr-old is batting a healthy .281 with a .324 OBP.
  • The duo of SRF and Fisk. Fisk earned a 2.2IP save, allowing just 2 base runs (a hit and a walk).

Saturday, April 14th’s POD goes to Riley Adams.

Riley Adams started the game batting just .154. After going 2-for-4, the 21-yr-old backstop is now batting an even .200.

Leading off the 2nd, Adams grounded out to short. Riley doubled in his next at-bat in the 4th and advanced to 3rd base on Logan Warmoth’s single to left field. Nash Knight walked and Adams scored a wild pitch.

Adams next at-bat came in the 5th with Bradley Jones on 2nd. Jones had to hold up on the play because he only advanced to 3rd on Adams’ second double of the game.

In his final at-bat in the 8th Riley Adams produced a groundout to third.

Adams also threw Luis Carpio trying to steal.

Bo and Vlad Show

Bo Bichette

Bo went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two walks.

Bichette walked in his first two at-bats, scoring a run in the 3rd on a Lourdes Gurriel Jr. groundball. He struck out swing in the 5th and hit an infield single to the third base side to lead off the 7th. Bo would later score on Cavan Biggio‘s bases-loaded walk….the most exciting play in baseball.

In the field, Bichette started one double play and turned another.

Bichette is batting .350 with a .872 OPS and is carrying an 8-game hit streak.

Vladimir Guerrero

Vladdy drove in a pair of RBI and went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Vladdy grounded out in the first for his only out in the game.

Guerrero cashed in Partick Cantwell and Jonathan Davis with a single in the 3rd inning to put the Fisher Cats up 2 to 0.

Guerrero singled in the 5th and walked and scored in the 7th.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr is batting .361 with a 1.057 OPS. Vladdy had RBI’s in his last 4 games, he has 3 straight 2-hit games and is riding a 7-game hit streak.
