On Sunday, April 29th, all affiliate were in play and the system went 2 and 2, with a double-header in Lansing and a game suspended due to weather in New Hampshire.

 

Triple-A

 

Buffalo Bisons (6-8)

 

Buffalo won 2 to 0.

 

Dalton Pompey has back-to-back games with a run driven in despite going hitless this one. Danny Jansen (2-for-2 with a HR)  and Jason Leblebijian each had 2 hits.

 

Luis Santos pitched 3 near-perfect innings in relief of Deck McGuire, surrendering just on a walk.

 

Starter- Deck McGuire 5.0IP, 2H, 3BB, 9K on 90 pitches

 

W- McGuire (2-1, 4.50 ERA)

Fisher Cats game suspended due to weather and will resume on 7/17.

Dunedin Blue Jays (9-13)

 

D-Jays lost 1 to 0 and were outhit 10 to 1.

 

SS Logan Warmoth hit a double for Dunedin’s only hit of the game.

 

Jake Fishman (2.0IP), William Ouellette (1.0IP), and Kirby Snead (1.0IP) held the Threshers to 6 hits and no runs over the final 4 frames.

 

Starter- Angel Perdomo 5.0IP, 4H, R, BB, 3K on 80 pitches

 

L- Perdomo (0-1, 0.90 ERA)

 

Monday, April 30th starting pitcher- Patrick Murphy (1-0, 3.68 ERA)

 

A-Ball

 

Lansing Lugnuts (15-7)

 

Game 1

 

Lansing won 1 to 0, outhitting West Michigan 5 to 2.

 

Christian Williams went 2-for-3 with two 2B and a run scored, while Brock Lundquist drove in the game’s only run.

 

Yennsy Diaz continues to impress in 2018 with his 3rd win and Ty Tice slammed the door on the Whitecaps in the 7th with a 1-2-3 innings which included 2 K.

 

Starter- Yennsy Diaz 6.0IP, 2H, 3BB, 5K on 90 pitches

 

SV- Ty Tice (5)

 

Game 2

 

The Lugnuts lost 3 to 2.

 

Kevin Smith went 1-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI. Brock Lundquist and Kevin Vicuna had the other hits for the Lugnuts.

 

6-foot-7 Colton Laws made his 2018 season debut. He surrendered 2 runs in the 3rd inning and a run in the 4th inning. Andy Ravel and Brody Rodning allowed one hit over the final 2 IP.

 

Starter- Colton Laws 4.0IP,5H, 3ER, BB, 5K on 64 pitches

 

L- Laws (0-1, 6.75 ERA)

 

Monday, April 30th starting pitcher- Turner Larkins (1-2, 5.54 ERA)

 

Player of the Day

 

POD Honorable Mention:

 

  • Buffalo’sDeck McGuire with 5 shutout inning, dropping his ERA from 7.00 down to 4.50.
  • D-Jays Angel Perdomo looked good in his 2nd start, despite taking the L.
  • Lansing’s Christian Williams with 2 doubles in game 1 and Lansing bullpen for pitching 4 scoreless innings between game 1 and 2.

 

Sunday, April 29th’s POD goes to Danny Jansen.

 

With Reese McGuire catching Deck McGuire, Danny Jansen had DH duty on Sunday. He responded with a 2-for-2 day at the plate and hit his 2nd HR of the year.

 

Toronto’s top catching prospect hit a solo home run to lead off the 2nd inning, his 2nd HR of 2018.

 

Jansen got on base in the 4th courtesy of a HBP and singled to right field with Dwight Smith Jr. on 1st in the 6th.

 

Danny Jansen is batting .310 with 3-2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI with a .944 OPS. He is battig .229 over his last 10 games.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

 

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette had their game suspended due to weather.
