April 30th Blue Jays Minor League Recap: Leblebijian homers in Buffalo’s win

On Monday, April 30th, Buffalo and New Hampshire both picked up wins. Dunedin and Lansing had the day off.

 

Triple-A

 

Buffalo Bisons (7-8)

 

Buffalo won 6 to 2.

 

Rowdy Tellez (2-for-4), Jason Leblebijian (2-for-3), and Tim Lopes (3-for-4) lead the way for the Herd, as Buffalo outhit Scranton/WB 11 to 5.

The Herd stole 4 bases in the win (Dalton Pompey, Danny Jansen, Tellez, and Lopes)

 

Murphy Smith and Sam Moll no-hit the RailRiders over the final 3 IP. Smith allowed one run on 2 walks and 3 K.

 

Starter- Chris Rowley 6.0IP, 5H, R, 3BB, 3K on 93 pitches

 

W- Rowley (2-1, 1.80 ERA)

 

SV- Sam Moll (1)

 

Tuesday, May 1st starting pitcher- Ryan Borucki

 

Double-A

 

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (14-8)

 

Fisher Cats won 7 to 2

 

New Hampshire got extra-base hits from Jonathan Davis (double), Bo Bichette (double), Vladimir Guerrero (triple), Cavan Biggio (triple), and Harold Ramirez (double).

 

Zach Jackson, Conor Fisk, and Andrew Case were stellar in relief, allowing 2 hits and no runs over the final 4 IP.

 

Starter- Jordan Romano 5.0IP, 3H, 2R, 5BB, 7K on 97 pitches

 

W- Romano (4-0, 2.43 ERA)

POD Honorable Mention:

 

  • Buffalo’s Tim Lopes went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Danny Jansen picked up a pair of RBI.
  • NH’s Vladdy, Biggio, and Ramirez each had two hits and Zach Jackson provided the Cats with 2 innings of 1-hit relief.

 

Sunday, April 29th’s POD goes to Jason Leblebijian.

 

Leblebijian played 3rd and batted 8th in Monday’s game. He went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored, a HR, an RBI, a BB, a K, and committed his 3rd error.

 

The Bisons’ 3rd baseman also started a pair of double plays.

 

Jason Leblebijian got off to a good start with a single in the 2nd inning with Darnell Sweeney on 2nd. Sweeney would score from 3rd on a Dalton Pompey groundout to put the Bisons’ up 2 to 0.

 

In the 4th, Leblebijian walked and would later come around to score on a Danny Jansen single to left field.

 

Leading off the 6th, Jason hit his 3rd home run of the year to right field but would go down swinging in the 8th to end his day.

 

In 13 games, the 26-yr-old Leblebijian is batting .255 with no doubles or triples. He has 3 homers and has driven in 7 RBI and scored 11 runs. He owns a .340 OBP and .447 slugging percentage.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

 

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. picked up a pair of hits, a single and triple. It was his first triple of the year. He walked once, struck out twice and scored twice. Vladdy has scored 15 runs and is batting an outstanding .380 with a 1.024 OPS.

 

Bo Bichette went 1-for-5 to extend his hit streak to 7 games despite batting just .268 over his last 10 games. Bichette picked up his 6th double and 8th RBI. Bo is .292 with a .791 OPS.
