Fisher Cats lost 6 to 5. NH gave up 4 runs in the 9th inning to spoil a strong start by starter Sean Reid-Foley.

Cavan Biggio hit his 6th HR and Bo Bichette, Juan Kelly, and Harold Ramirez each had 2-hits. Kelly hit his 1st AA home run in the 9th inning to pull to within one.

Nash Knight had a pair doubles, and Bradley Jones and Ivan Castillo each contributed with two hits.

 

Nick Hartman threw 2.1IP of shutout relief.

Lansing got multi-hit games from Chavez Young, Kevin Vicuna, Christian Williams, Kevin Smith, Brock Lundquist. Young, Kacy Clemens, Smith, and Lundquist hit home runs.

 

Matt Shannon picked up a 2.0IP save and Kyle Weatherly pitched a tidy 7th.

POD Honorable Mention:

 

  • Buffalo’s Sam Gaviglio dominated with the exception of a pair of solo home runs surrendered in the 2nd and 3rd innings.
  • NH’s Biggio continues to show improved power to start the 2018 season with his 6th HR and is batting .319.
  • Lansing’s Zach Logue allowed one earned run over 6 innings to improve to 3 and 0. Clemens hit his 6th HR while Kevin Smith and Brock Lundquist hit their 4th.

 

Wednesday, May 2nd’s POD goes to Nash Knight.

 

The 25-yr-old Knight was playing 1st base and batting 4th for the Dunedin Blue Jays. He went 2-for-4 with a couple doubles, 5th and 6th, while driving in his 10th and 11th RBI of the year.

 

Knight got the D-Jays started with a double in the 1st inning. Rodrigo Orozco and Logan Warmoth scored on the play.

 

Nash Knight grounded out leading off the 4th inning.

 

Leading off in the 6th, Nash picked up another double. Ivan Castillo brought Knight home with a single to single.

 

In his final at-bat, Nash Knight struck out swinging in the 8th.

 

Knight is batting .317 with 10 runs, 6 doubles, 2 HR, 11 RBI, .385 OBP, and .463 SLG.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

 

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had the day off.

 

Bo Bichette went 2-for-4 with a run scored and was caught stealing. Bichette is now batting .299 with a .808 OPS.
