POD Honorable Mention:

Saturday, May 19th’s POD goes to Riley Adams

Riley Adams went 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored, a HR, and 3 RBI. Unfortunately, he committed an error (3) on a pickoff play in the in the 7th inning which allowed Calten Daal to scored from 3rd.

The 21-yr-old doubled (8) in the 4th inning to score Logan Warmoth from 2nd base. Adams would later score on Ivan Castillo‘s 6th double of the year.

The 2017 3rd rounder went deep on a 0-1 pitch in the 8th inning with Bradley Jones on 1st base to pull the D-Jays to within one run of the Daytona Tortugas.

Riley Adams reached base in the 9th inning on a fielding error by former Blue Jays farmhand Mitch Nay. Adams would advance to 2nd base on a Joel Kuhnel wild pitch but after battling off 6 pitches, Kacy Clemens fanned on pitch number 7 to end the threat and the game.

The 2018 season has not been a smooth one for Riley Adams. The prized catcher is batting just .193 with 8 doubles, 2 HR, 14 RBI, and 16 runs scored. This was Adams’6th multi-hit game in 30 contests.
