  • Lansing’s Zach Logue very strong in the loss.

Wednesday, May 23rd POD goes to T.J. Zeuch

Cavan Biggio or Zach Lague would have made excellent POD; however, I decided to go with T.J. Zeuch since he picked up his 1st career AA win.

Zeuch’s only real blemish came in the 6th inning. Malquin Canelo poked a single past Vladimir Guerrero Jr. at 3rd to leadoff the inning. Zeuch struck out Jan Hernandez for the innings first out. Zach Green looked at ball 1-2-3 before taking strike one. Green sent Zeuch’s next pitch over the left-field wall.

The 6-foot-7 righty got the next two batters to ground out and strikeout to end the inning.

Zeuch started the game by retiring the first 6 batters before allowing a leadoff single in the 3rd. The former 1st round pick erased the baserunner with a double play. A single, a walk, and a single loaded the bases with 2-outs. Fortunately, Zeuch got flyball out to end the threat.

The native of Mason, OH, had a clean 4th inning and got the first two out of the 5th via groundballs. He walked Emmanuel Marrero and allowed a Zach Coppola single with 2-outs. Zeuch’s catcher, Max Pentecost, picked off Coppola from 1st to end the inning.

Zeuch threw 61 of his 91 pitches for strikes. He induced 8 groundball outs and 3 fly ball outs. Since joining the Fisher Cats on May 8th, T.J. Zeuch owns a record of 1-2 with a 4.76 ERA, 30 hits, 2 HR allowed, 6 BB, and 15 K in 4 starts over 22.2 IP.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. picked up 2 singles and a double (17), going 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored, and a walk. Vladimir is batting .425 with .479 OBP, and 1.172 OPS. He is batting .513 over his last 10 games.

Bo Bichette went hitless in 4 at-bats. He is 0-for-13 over his last three games and is batting .186 in his past 10 games. Bichette is batting .244 with .321 OBP and .688 OPS.
