POD Honorable Mention:

Sunday, June 3rd POD goes to Dwight Smith Jr.

Dwight Smith Jr. fell victim to the numbers game in Toronto. Returned to Buffalo on Friday, DSJ put his best foot forward on Sunday with a pair of singles in four at-bats. He drove in all three of Buffalo’s runs and chipped in with his 6th stolen base of the year. Smith Jr. batted 2nd and played LF.

In the 3rd inning, the 25-yr-old outfielder singled through the right side to score Gift Ngoepe and Ian Parmley to pull the Bisons to within one run, 3-2.

Smith was at it again in the 7th. He tied the game up at 3-3 with a single to center fielder to cash in Ngoepe.

I know a pair of singles don’t typically get you POD but driving in all of your clubs runs and doing it during your first game back after getting demoted, kinda does.

Overall, DSJ is batting .287 with 9 runs scored, 4-2B, 1-3B, 2-HR, 18-RBI, and 6-SB with a .799 OPS in 25 Triple-A games.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. injured in yesterday’s game 2 after stepping awkwardly at 1st base. Likely just day-to-day.

Bo Bichette went 1-for-3 with a double and was caught stealing in game 1. Bo went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in game 2. Bichette is batting .268 with .763 OPS.
