Tuesday, June 12th POD goes to Rowdy Tellez

The burly 1st baseman played both games of Tuesday’s doubleheader. In game 1, Tellez had a very un-POD performance as he went 0-f0r-2 with a walk. Tellez was much better in game 2, going 3-for-4 with a home run (4) and 3 runs batted in.

Tellez grounded out in the 1st inning. The 6-foot-4 lefty batter opened the top of the 3rd inning with a solo shot to center field to extend the Bisons lead to 5 to 2.

With the score 6 to 2 Buffalo in the 4th inning, Tellez singled to left field to score Anthony Alford from 2nd base. In his final at-bat in the 6th inning, Tellez cashed Roemon Fields in from 3rd base with another single to left field.

The former 30th round pick has picked up the pace of late, batting .355 with 6 runs scored and 6 RBI over his last 10 games. Tellez has bumped up his batting average from .240 to .265 during this time. Overall, Ryan John Tellez has 12 doubles and 23 RBI with a .352 OBP and is slugging a disappointing .398. Rowdy has seen his SLG% increase each month and is slugging a much better .538 in June.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr remains of the 7-day DL and will be shut down for 4-ish weeks.

Bo Bichette hit his 5th home run in the 4th inning off starter Triston McKenzie Jon Berti on 2nd base to put the Fisher Cats up 2 to 0. Bo would add another RBI to his total in the 5th with a sac fly to score Berti who had just hit a 3-RBI triple. Bichette went 1-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI. He is batting a cool .285 with .803 OPS.
