Wednesday, June 13th POD goes to Dwight Smith Jr.

 

DSJ went 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and a 2-run home run. He played left field and batted third for the Buffalo Bisons in the loss.

 

Smith Jr. grounded out in the 1st inning for the only unproductive at-bat of the game for the 25-yr-old outfielder.

 

In Dwight’s next at-bat, he sent a 3-2 pitch back up the middle of the diamond for a single. Danny Jansen struck out in the next at-bat to end the inning.

 

In the 6th inning, Anthony Alford walked and Dwight Smith Jr. singled to left field. The former 1st rounder scored two at-bats later on a Lourdes Gurriel Jr.home run to left center field to make the score 5 to 4 for Leighigh Valley.

 

Dwight Smith Jr. put the Bisons up 6 to 5 with his 3rd home run, spending a 0-2 pitch over the wall in right field to cash in Roemon Fields. He would walk and score in the 9th on a Danny Jansen double to add the Bisons lead (7 to 5).

 

In 34 games with Buffalo DSJ owns a .289 batting average, .157 ISO, and .330 BABIP. He is providing the Bisons with quality at-bats with 14.9 BB% and 16.2 K% for a .395 OBP. Overall, DSJ has hit 8 doubles, a triple, and 3 HR while driving in 25 runs and scoring 15. He also has 6 stolen bases.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

 

Vladimir Guerrero Jr remains of the 7-day DL and will be shut down for 4-ish weeks.

 

Bo Bichette went 1-for-4, picking up his 16th double in the 3rd inning. Bichette scored on a Cavan Biggio single to center field to make the score 1 to 0 for NH. Bo is batting .284 with 48 runs scored and 32 RBI. He owns a 9.6 BB% and 16.7 K% while sporting a .359 wOBA.
