On Monday, June 18th, the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system went a perfect 5 and 1. We got our first look at our 2018 1st round selection in a big opening day win for the GCL Blue Jays.

Monday, June 18th POD goes to Joshua Palacios

 

The 22-yr-old outfielder had a monster day going 5-for-6 with 2 runs scored, a double, a home run, a stolen base, and 5 RBI in game 1. He went 2-for-3 with a run scored, a home run, and 3 RBI in game 2.

 

The Brooklyn native started the game with a groundball single through the right side of the infield. Palacios stole his 4th base and later scored on a Nash Knight single to center field.

 

With the score 4 to 0 for the good guys in the 4th inning, Palacios stepped to the plate with Eduard Pinto on 1st base and sent the first pitch his saw over the right-field wall for a 2-run home run.

 

Palacios hit a run-scoring single in the 5th inning and singled and was stranded in the 7th inning. In his final at-bat, Palacios doubled home Alberto Mineo for the D-Jays final run.

 

Game 2

 

Palacios grounded out in the first inning. He singled and was stranded in the 3rd inning.

 

Joshua Palacios hit his 4th HR in the 5th, a 3-run shot over the center field wall.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

 

Vladimir Guerrero Jr remains of the 7-day DL and will be shut down for 4-ish weeks.

 

Bo Bichette had his game rained out.
