Thursday, June 21st POD goes to Alejandro Kirk
A 19-yr-old 2016 IFA signee, Kirk only played 1 game in 2017 and just 2 so far in 2018; however, career game #4 was something special.
The 5-foot-9 right-handed bat played DH and hit out of the cleanup spot for the Bluefield Blue Jays. Kirk picked up his first professional double in the 1st inning and was left stranded.
The native of Tijuana collected his first career RBI with an RBI single in the 3rd inning and put Bluefield ahead 3 to 1. Kirk was left stranded at 3rd base.
In the 4th inning with 2-runs pushed across the plate and the score 6 to 1, Kirk hit another RBI single. The DH/C scored when Davis Schneider homered to make the score 9 to 1.
Alejandro grounded out to led off the 6th inning but picked up hit #4 with another single to score Otto Lopes to make the score 11 to 6. The game ended 11 to 10.
Alejandro Kirk went 4-for-5, with a run scored, a double, and 3-RBI.
