Sunday, June 24th POD goes to Davis Schneider

The Bluefield Blue Jays have started the season strong, getting excellent contributions from several key players. One of those key contributors is 19-yr-old Davis Schneider. The 2017 28th round selection picked up a pair of hits, both doubles, scored a run, drove in a run, and walked twice. The 5-foot-10 3rd baseman walked in the 2nd inning to leadoff the frame; unfortunately, Jose Theran, Hagen Danner, and D.J. Daniels were unable to advance the runner.

He led off the 4th inning with his 2nd double of the season. This time Jose Theran singled to right field to score Schneider. Davis Schneider walked and was stranded in the 5th inning. In the 7th inning, the right-handed batter hit an RBI double (3) to center field, advancing to 3rd base on the throw. Bluefield 5 and Burlington Royals 0. Davis Schneider grounded out in his final at-bat in the 9th inning.

In 4 games, Schneider is batting .533 with 2 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1-HR, 4-RBI, and a 1.522 OPS while splitting his playing time between 2nd base and 3rd base.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr remains of the 7-day DL

Bo Bichette went 0-for-4 with two groundball outs and a flyball out. He reached 1st base, driving in the Fisher Cats only run, on a throwing error by the Reading Fightin Phils 2nd baseman Drew Stankiewicz. Ryan Hissey scored from 3rd base. The 20-yr-old is batting .244 over his last 10 games.
