Wednesday, June 27th POD goes to Brandon Grudzielanek

 

Th nephew of Mark Grudzielanek went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a home run, and run batted in, and a walk in Lansing’s 6 to 2 win.

 

The undrafted 3rd baseman singled in the 1st and 4th innings. Brandon was stranded at 1st base in the games opening frame but scored on a Brock Lundquist’s 13th home run in the 4th inning, a drive to right field which also scored Kevin Vicuna to give the Lugnuts a 5 to 0 lead.

 

The 6-foot-0 native of Texas struck out in the 6th inning and drew a walked in the 8th inning but was stranded at 3rd base.

 

Brandon Gruzielanek’s big drive came in the 3rd inning. Leading off the home half of the 3rd, Brandon jumped on the first pitch from 22-yr-old Kirk McCarty for his 1st home run of 2018 and 3rd of his career.

 

The 23-yr-old is batting .258 with 6 doubles, 3 triples, and 12 RBI in 33 games. His batting .342 over his last 10 games thanks to a pair of 3-hit performances in his last 4 games which gives him four multi-hit games in his last 10 outings.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

 

Vladimir Guerrero Jr remains of the 7-day DL

 

Bo Bichette went 1-for-5 with an RBI single in the 3rd inning to put the Fisher Cats up 2 to 0. Bo is batting .280 with 41 RBI.
