Friday, July 13th POD goes to Jordan Groshans

 

Jordan Groshans played 3rd base and batted cleanup in a lineup that consisted of 2017 1st round selection Logan Warmoth and super prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

 

The 2018 1st round selection came to the plate in the 1st inning with Logan Warmoth and Vladdy on 2nd and 1st after both walking on four pitches. Groshans jumped on the first pitch he saw, spending a 2-run double to LF. Blue Jays up 2 to 0. Groshans advanced to 3rd base on fly out and scored on a balk. Blue Jays up 3 to 0.

 

Groshans scored Adrian Ramos with a sac fly in the 2nd inning to push the GCL Blue Jays lead to 4 to 0. In the 3rd inning, Groshans hit a 2-run single to score Ramos and Warmoth and extend the lead to 8 to 0. He flew out to CF in the 6th inning and doubled in the 8th inning.

 

The talented 18-yr-old infielder finished 3-for-4 with a run scored, two doubles, and five runs batted in. Overall, Jordan is batting .354 with 8 runs, 7 doubles, a pair of dingers, and 24 RBI in 17 games as a pro.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

 

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 1-for-3 with a run scored, and a walk for the GCL Blue Jays.

 

Bo Bichette went 4-for-5 with a run scored, a double, and two runs batted in to push his batting average back above .270. Let’s see if he can go on a roll.
