Saturday, July 14th POD goes to Graham Spraker

The 23-yr-old 31st round selection of the 2017 draft headed to the DL on May 18th but last pitched on May 11th. At the time, the Lugnuts pitcher was splitting his time between the rotation and bullpen as a piggyback tandem. He owned a record of 0-2 with a 2.51 ERA at the time of the injury.

His start on Saturday was Spraker’s 2nd start with Lansing since being activated from the DL on July 9th and it was a good one. Graham Spraker threw 51 of his 79 pitches for strikes and generated 7 groundball outs and 2 flyball outs for a game score of 77.

The 6-foot-3 righty finished with a line of 6.0IP, one hit, one walk, and 5 strikes outs.

Graham Spraker walked the first batter he faced to open the 1st inning but got a quick infield pop out and a double play to get of the inning. He produced 1-2-3 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings before allowing a 2-out single in the 6th inning. Graham Spraker would be the next batter to ground out to Samad Taylor to end the inning and his evening. Prior to the 6th inning single, Spraker retired 16 batters in a row.

He finished with 4 swinging strikeouts and 1 caught looking.

Overall, Graham Spraker is 0-1, with a 2.58 ERA with 8 walks, 38 strikeouts over 9 games and 38.1IP. He has held opponents to a .210 batting while sporting a 0.99 WHIP.
