Monday, July 23rd POD goes to Jordan Barrett

 

The 23-yr-old left-handed pitcher had a career game on the mound for the Lansing Lugnuts with a game score of 80. It was the first time the former 18th round selection of the 2017 Draft pitched past the 6th inning with 7 effective and efficient innings. He threw 53 of his 78 pitches for strikes with 4 ground ball outs and 10 fly ball outs.

 

Barrett surrendered a 2-out double in the 2nd inning, a 2-out walk in the 3rd inning and a 6th inning leadoff double for three total baserunners. He finished strong with a pair of flyball outs and struck out Andrew Bechtold swinging to end his night.

 

Overall, Barrett owns a record of 3-1 with a 3.69 ERA over 8 starts across three levels. He has one AA start on May 26th before heading to Vancouver for 4 starts between June 17th and July 5th. Bo Bichette played short and leadoff for the Fisher Cats. Bo went 1-for-3 with a run scored, a double, two walks, and strikeout. Bichette is batting is batting .269 with 68 runs scored, 27 doubles, and 34 walks in 92 games.
