Top Performers:

Tuesday, July 24th POD goes to Mc Gregory Contreras

The 19-yr-old outfielder batted 8th and DH’ed on Tuesday. He has had his ups and downs this season but is developing nicely with the C’s. The 6-foot-1 native of Venezuela hit his 5th double of the year in his first at-bat which came in the 3rd inning after a leadoff double by Jesus Severino. C’s tied 1-1.

Contreras reached base on an infield error leading off the 5th inning but was stranded at 3rd base to end the frame. He doubled in the 7th inning pushing Severino, who singled, over to 3rd base. He would score two batters later on a Vinny Capra sac fly to put the C’s up 4 to 3.

He grounded out in the 9th to end the game. Mc Gregory Contreras is batting .314 over his last 10 games and .240 on the year. He’s hit 6 doubles, a triple, 4 HR, and driven 14 runs in 28 games while maintaining a .749 OPS.

Cal Stevenson OBP Streak

Cal Stevenson and the Bluefield Blue Jays were rained out on Tuesday, playing just 4.1IP. Cal Stevenson was not in the lineup….maybe on his way to Vancouver?

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 1-for-5 with a double and two strikeouts while batting 3rd and playing 3rd.

Bo Bichette had a good game with a single and a triple in five plate appearances. He also struck out. Bo is batting .271.
