Player of the Day

Top Performers:

Wednesday, August 1st POD goes to Cavan Biggio with Noda a very very very close 2nd.

After a hot start to his season, Biggio struggled horribly in June and July batting under .200 seeing his BA drop from .300 to .255. Maybe Wednesday’s game will get Biggio back on track. He flew out to CF in the 1st inning with Bo Bichette on 2nd base after a run-scoring double, kicking off a bat around 7-run 1st inning.

The 23-yr-old smacked a solo homer (22) in the 2nd inning, pushing the Cats lead to 8-0. He was at it again in the 4th inning with his 23rd home run with Bo Bichette on 2nd base after hitting another double. The Fisher Cats’ infielder cashed in two more runs with a 5th inning 2-run double scoring Ryan Hissey and Andrew Guillotte. Cavan Biggio grounded out in his final at-bat in the 7th inning.

Biggio finished the day going 3-for-5 with 3 runs, a double, a pair of dingers, and 5 runs batted in. He is batting .200 with 8 runs scored, 3HR, 8-RBI, 8-BB, and 12-K over the last 10 games. Overall he is slashing .255/.397/.533 in 100 games.

Cal Stevenson On-Base Streak

Cal Stevenson still holds an on-base streak of  34 games with the Bluefield Blue Jays game being delayed due to weather.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played the first game of a doubleheader. He went 1-for-3 with a pair of K’s. He is batting .250 in two games at Triple-A.

Bo Bichette played SS and batted 2nd for the Fisher Cats on Wednesday. Bo went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a pair of doubles, and two RBI. Bichette is batting .318 with 8 runs, a pair of HR, 9 RBI over his last 10 games. Overall, Bo is batting .277 with a .333 OBP and is slugging .456.
