Thursday, August 16th POD goes to Cavan Biggio

The former 5th round pick blasted a pair of dingers, scored 4 times, drove in 3 runs, and hit a double. Biggio’s 2nd HR was a solo shot in the bottom of the 9th to walkoff the Fisher Cats.

 

Cavan Biggio hit a flyball to RF in the 1st inning for his only non-productive at-bat of the night. With Forrest Wall standing at 1st base and 2-outs, Biggio blasted his 25th HR over the wall in RF to put NH on the board in the 3rd inning. Altoona 4 to 2.

 

Leading off the 6th inning, Biggio stroked a 1-1 pitch to RF for his 18th double. Max Pentecost would advance Biggio to 3rd base with a fly ball to CF and Santiago Espinal would bring Biggio home with a sac fly to CF. Altoona 5 to 3.

 

Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio drew 1-out walks in the 8th inning. Max Pentecost hit his 17th double, scoring Bichette and Biggio and pulling NH to within one. Altoona 6 to 5. With 2-outs in the bottom of the 9th inning, Biggio blasted a 3-0 pitch over the wall in RF for his 26th HR and the win.

 

Overall, Biggio is batting .257 with 72 runs, 18 doubles, and 4 triples. His 26 HR leads the EL while his 88 RBI is good 2nd. Biggio also leads the EL with 89 walks and is 3rd with 127 strikeouts.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. picked up a pair of singles, going 2 for 3 with a strikeout. Vlad is batting .353.

 

Bo Bichette hit EL leading 36th double and scored his EL leading 81st run. Bo also walked and struckout. Double-B is now batting .274 with a .331 OBP and .774 SLG% in 112 games at Double-A.
