Top Performers:

Saturday, August 18th POD goes to Randy Pondler

The Vancouver Canadians starter had a very strong outing against the Spokane Indians on Saturday. You can see his pitching line above. Pondler threw 42 of 60 pitches for strikes, getting four outs via the groundball and two outs via the flyball.

The 21-yr-old lefty started the game with a pair of swinging strikeouts in a 1-2-3 first inning. He allowed a pair of singles in the 2nd inning but got himself out of trouble with a pair of flyball outs and called 3rd strike to end the threat.

Pondler allowed a 2-out single in the 3rd inning and the 5th inning, keeping Spokane out of scoring position.

For the season, Pondler owns a record of 4-4 and a 3.04 ERA in 10 starts with the C’s. He has struck out 33 and walked 11 batters in 50.1 innings and owns a 1.27 WHIP. He has not lost since July 16th, rattling off 4 wins in 5 starts.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had the day off.

Bo Bichette DH’ed in game 1 of the Fisher Cats doubleheader and went 1-for-5, with an RBI. In game 2 he played the field manning 2nd base and batting leadoff. Bo went 3-for-4, with a run scored and a pair of doubles. Overall, Bo is batting .275 with 82 runs scored, 38 doubles, 6 triples, and 10 HR.
