Top Performers:

Tuesday, August 21st POD goes to Cal Stevenson

I’ve written this name quite a bit this summer, Stevenson has put together a very productive season with the Bluefield Blue Jays in 2018. Cal Stevenson one picked up one hit in four at-bats but scored three runs thanks to a pair of walks while swiping three bases for good measure.

Batting leadoff and playing CF, Stevenson hit a bunt single to leadoff the game. He advanced to 3rd base on Luis De Los Santos’ single to right field and scored on D.J. Neal‘s sac fly as the Blue Jays scored three first-inning runs.

With two-on and no0outs, Cal Stevenson grounded out to SS but advanced the runners. He walked to lead off the 5th inning and stole 2nd base (12). After a De Los Santos strikeout and D.J. Neal walk, Cal Stevenson scored on an Alejandro Kirk’s single to LF.

Stevenson popped out to third base in the 6th inning. He walked in the 8th inning, stole 2nd base (13) and third base (14), and scored on Kirk’s two-run double.

In his final at-bat, Cal Stevenson grounded out to end the 9th inning.

Overall, the 21-yr-old outfielder is batting .371 with 55 runs, 8 doubles, 5 triples, 2 HR, 26 RBI, 46 BB, and 16 K with 14-for-15 in stolen attempts.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played 3rd base and batted 3rd in the Bisons lineup on Tuesday. Vlad went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI but was rained out. They’ll finish up today.

Bo Bichette played 2B and batted out of the leadoff spot for the NH Fisher Cats. He went hitless with a pair of K’s and an error in four at-bats. Bo is batting .278.
