Wednesday, August 22nd POD goes to Griffin Conine

 

The 21-yr-old C’s outfielder snapped a 3-game hitless streak with a 3-for-5 day at the plate. Conine hit an RBI single in the 1st inning, scoring Christopher Bec to put the C’s on the board. 1-0.

 

Conine singled again in the 3rd inning but was stranded when Jesus Severino grounded into an inning-ending double play. In his next at-bat, Conine grounded out to the pitcher for the 1st out of the 5th inning.

Vancouver scored 4 runs in the 6th inning with Conine pushing two across home plate with his 12th double of the season. He struck out in his final at-bat for the 2nd out of the 9th inning.

 

Griffin Conine has struggled at the plate over the last two weeks, batting just .171 with seven hitless games over his last 10 games. Overall, Conine is batting .246 with 13 doubles, a pair of triples, 5 homers, and 25 RBI. He owns a .313 OBP and .425 SLG%.

 

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played 3rd base and batted 3rd in the Bisons lineup on Tuesday. Vlad went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in game 1 and 0-for-3, with a run scored, walk, and strikeout in Game 2. Vladdy is slashing .348/.443/.576 with 4-HR and 8 RBI in 19 games with Buffalo.

 

Bo Bichette played SS and leadoff in game 1. He went 0-for-2, with a run, walk, and stolen base. In Game 2, Bo went 1-for-4, 2-K, and a SB. Overall, Bichette is slashing .277/.333/.438 with 31 SB.
