Player of the Day

Top Performers:

Friday, August 24th POD goes to Jonathan Davis

The 26-yr-old Davis bumped his batting average up from .248 to .268 with a 4-for-4 day at the plate. Davis batted leadoff and played in CF for the Herd in Friday’s 13 to 4 win.

Davis singled in the 1st, 2nd, and 7th innings, scoring in the 2nd and 7th innings. With one out and nobody on base in the 4th inning, Jonathan Davis sent a 1-2pitch over the centerfield wall for his 4th Triple-A home run pushing the Bisons lead to 5 to 3.

Davis was hit by a 2-1 pitch leading off the 6th inning and quickly scored when Dwight Smith Jr. jumped the first pitch he saw for a run-scoring double to left field. Buffalo’s lead is now 7 to 3.

Jonathan Davis has hits in his last 4 games and is batting .326 over his last 10. In 38 games with the Bisons, he is batting .268 with 7 doubles, a pair of triples, and 4 HR. Davis has stolen 26 bases in 116 games between AAA and AA.

I’d dump Curtis Granderson right freaking now and add this former 15 rounder to the 40-man roster and call him UP. That was mean to Grandy. It’s been great to watch him in a Jays uni this year but it is time to turn the page.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played 3rd base and batted 3rd in the order for Buffalo. Vladdy picked up a pair of doubles and a single in four at-bats while contributing 2-RBI to the Herds 13 to 4 win. The 19-yr-old phenom is batting .373 with five doubles, four homers, and ten RBI in 21 games played in Triple-A.

Bo Bichette played SS and leadoff for New Hampshire. He went hitless in four at-bats but walked and scored a run in the Fisher Cats loss. Bo has struck out twice in a game 4 times in his last 10 games but is still batting .300 during this period.
