Player of the Day

Top Performers:

Thursday, August 30th POD goes to Freddy Rodriguez

The 21-yr-old hasn’t played much this season and when he has, he hasn’t produced consistently. Thursday was a good day for the Venezuelan outfielder as he hit his 1st triple of 2018, a single, and drove in runs 8, 9, and 10.

Rodriguez walked and scored in the 2nd inning and singled in the 6th inning. His big hit came in the 7th inning after Bryan Lizardo walked with the bases loaded to put the Lugs up 6 to 0. With Vinny Capra standing on 3rd base, Reggie Pruitt standing on 2nd base, and Lizardo on first, Freddy Rodriguez sent a 2-1 pitch to right field for a bases-clearing triple.

Overall, Freddy is batting just .210 with 13 runs scored, 4 doubles, a triple, and 10 RBI. Rodriguez is a guy who could play a much bigger role for the Lugnuts in 2019.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was given the day off today.

Bo Bichette went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, a pair of RBI, and a walk. With last nights output, Bo has increased his EL lead in hits to 151, runs scored to 94. Overall, Bo is slashing .289/.348/.458 in 127 games and is batting .405 over his last 10 games.
