Jays From the Couch highlights prospects in the Blue Jays minor system who had a strong month of August

The Blue Jays minor league system had some standout performers in August, let’s get right to it. Jon Berti hit the 2nd cycle of the year for the Fisher Cats which was also the 2nd in the franchise’s history. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit homers in 4 straight games for Buffalo. Max Pentecost is on fire as the Fisher Cats push for towards the playoffs. Joshua Palacios continues a torrid pace at the top of the D-Jays batting order and leads the Florida State League in a bunch of categories. The Lansing trio of Samad Taylor, Chavez Young, and Ryan Noda seem unstoppable.

On the mound, Buffalo has seen its entire rotation turned over. Travis Bergen hasn’t allowed an earned run since June (he allowed on September 1st), Patrick Murphy was named the FSL pitcher of the year, and Maximo Castillo takes the next step in his development.

I hope you’ve enjoyed scrolling through these Player Of Month posts this season. I look forward to doing it all over again next year. I’ve got a couple more MiLB recaps to do this season before I kick it into offseason mode which means lots and lots of Year in Reviews. I am also going to run through the system with a look at specific categories.

Lover of all things Toronto Blue Jays. Blue Jays MiLB fanatic. I strive for average while stumbling onto above average. Rogers isn’t cheap. Baseball is a business. Your right, but I’m more right.
