Monday, September 3rd POD goes to Jon Berti

 

The 28-yr-old minor league veteran of 8 seasons continues to swing a hot bat heading into the playoffs which start in Wednesday against the Trenton Thunder (NYY). Leading off the bottom half of the 1st inning, Berti jumped on a 3-1 pitch for his 8th dinger (career high).

 

Berti finished the game with a pair of singles, a homer, two RBI, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Over his last 10 games, Berti is batting .500 with 7 multi-hit games, 3HR, 7RBI, and 15 runs. This could be the best baseball of his career. In 101 games, he finishes the season with a .296 batting average (career high), 66 runs scored, 14 doubles, 7 triples (tie his career high), 8HR (career high), 46 RBI, and 29 SB.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled in four at-bats and left two bases on base. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finishes the year with a .381/.437/.636 slash, 67 runs, 136 hits, 29 doubles, a triple, 20 HR, 78 RBI, and 3 SB in 95 games split between the Gulf Coast League (rehab), Dunedin (rehab), New Hampshire (61 GP), and Buffalo (30 GP).

 

Bo Bichette triples and scored a run in four at-bats. In 131 games played with the Double-A Fisher Cats, Bo scored 95 runs, stole 32 bases, hit 43 doubles, 7 triples, 11 HR, and drove in 74 runs while batting .286 with a .796 OPS.
