New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8 vs Trenton Thunder 0

 

The Fisher Cats take game one in dominating fashion by a score of 8 to 0.

 

HR- none

 

SB- Harold Ramirez and Jon Berti

 

Starter- T.J. Zuech 6.0IP, 8-H, 0-R, 1-BB, 5-K on 89 pitches.

 

Bullpen

Kirby Snead 1.1IP, 2-BB, 4-K on 30 pitches

Dusty Isaacs 0.1IP, K on 4 pitches

Travis Bergen 1.1IP, 1-H, 1-BB, 3-K on 22 pitches

 

W- Zeuch (1-0, 0.00 ERA)

The Fisher Cats opened the scoring in the bottom of the 6th inning. Jon Berti reached 1st base in a hit by pitch, then stole 2nd base. Bo Bichette sent a 1-0 pitch to center field ground rule double, easily scoring Berti. After a Harold Ramirez single, Cavan Biggio made the score 3 to 0 with a 2-run double.

 

The Fisher Cats blew the game open with a 5-run 8th inning. Ramirez and Biggio drew back-to-back walks to New Hampshire half of the inning.  A double-steal-ish put runs at 2nd and 3rd for Max Pentecost. The oft-injured catch advanced the runners with a groundball to 2nd base and pushed the score to 4 to 0. Recent call-up Joshua Palacios scored Biggio from 3rd base with a line drive single to center field, 5 to 0.

 

With 2-outs and two runs already across, Gunnar Heidt and Forrest Walls drew back-to-back walks to load the bases for Jon Berti. The versatile Berti wasted no time jumping on a 1-0 pitch for a 2-RBI single. Bichette added another run with an RBI single to score Wall.

 

Bo Bichette went 2-for-5, with a run scored, a double, and 2-RBI.

 

Thursday, September 6th staters- Hector Perez vs Nick Green

 

Lansing Lugnuts 3 vs. Bowling Green Hot Rods 4

 

The Lugs battled back in the bottom of the 8th inning to tie the game up at 3’s; unfortunately, the Hot Rods scored in the 10th inning to take the win. Hot Rods lead the series 1-0 with a 4-3 extra-inning win.

 

HR- Andres Sotillo (1)

 

SB- none

 

Starter- Maximo Castillo 5.2 IP, 2-H, 1-R, 1-BB, 1-K, and 1-HRA on 81 pitches.

 

Bullpen

Brody Rodning 1.1IP, 1-H, 1-R, 2-BB on 22 pitches

Emerson Jimenez 2.0 IP, 2-H, 1-R, on 22 pitches

Matt Shannon 1.0 IP, 2-H, 1-R, 1-BB, 1-K on 29 pitches

 

L- Shannon (0-1, 9.00 ERA)

 

Lansing scored got on the board in the bottom of the 5th to tie the game up, 1-1. Catcher Andres Sotillo hit a 1-0 pitch over the rightfield wall for a home run. The longball was just the 2nd hit of the game of the Bolt’s and Sotillo accounted for both of them.

 

Samad Taylor hit a one-out double in the 6th off reliever Tyler Zombro but Norberto Obeso and Chavez Young were retired in order. The Lugs were retired 1-2-3 in the 7th inning with Ryan Noda and Andres Sotillo striking out.

 

The Lugnuts jumped on the Hot Rods new reliever, Simon Roseblum-Larson, with a Vinny Capra leadoff single and a Jesus Navarro one-out walk. Capra and Navarro advanced to 2nd and 3rd on a throwing error. With 2-outs, Norberto Obeso cleared the bases with a two-run triple to right field. Chavez Young was unable to give the Lugnuts the lead, stranding Obeso at 3rd base.

 

With the Hot Rods taking the lead in the top of the 10th, Lansing started the inning with a Capra three-pitch strikeout, a Reggie Pruitt three-pitch groundout, and a one-pitch Jesus Navarro flyball out to end the game.
