Jays From the Couch is celebrating it’s third year of covering the Toronto Blue Jays and we want to thank all of you for your support!
Exactly three years ago, we launched Jays From the Couch to add our voice to the coverage of the Toronto Blue Jays. 2018 has been another year of tremendous growth for Jays From the Couch and we want to say thank you to everyone for making it what it is today.
2018 was a pretty bad season for the Canada’s team, but you helped make it a good one for our team. Hundreds and hundreds of thousands of you have enjoyed the analysis, news and columns we have put out over the past year. We’ve seen a massive increase in our reach and it is thanks to all of you reading, commenting and sharing our work. As founder of Jays From the Couch, I can’t express what it means to have hundreds of thousands of readers visit the Couch like that. Hundreds of thousands of readers have trusted Jays From the Couch to provide the content they look for. That means a lot. Thank you.
Not only have you been visiting our site, but you’ve been listening to our audio content. Jays From the Couch Radio has reached new heights with well over 100, 000 downloads in 2017. Not only have you tuned in to our great interviews, but you’ve been listening to us spout our opinions and you keep coming back for more. Whether you use iTunes or Google Play, we deeply appreciate the support. We couldn’t be more excited to be bringing you LIVE podcasts thanks to the folks at Dialog. Monday evenings at 7pm ET, you can tune in live and join the show. Just watch for the link on Twitter (@JaysFromCouch) and follow along. If you are into the social medias, be sure to ‘Like’ our Faceboook Page.
Speaking of partnerships, we’d like to give a special THANK YOU to DaveMe Images, who provides us with excellent photographic gold for our posts! You should head over to check out his amazing Blue Jays photos, which are available for purchase, by the way!
2018 saw JFtC join the printed media world with our very first book! The Jays From the Couch Guide to the 2018 Toronto Blue Jays hit “bestseller” status on Amazon! The staff here poured their heart and soul into this project and it turned out to be rather huge! Thank you to everyone for purchasing and enjoying this!
As I have said before: “I know that there are many different places you can turn to for coverage of your favorite team. I knew when I started this that the market was thick. I knew that JFtC would be competing with many intelligent, passionate sources for Blue Jays coverage.”
Personally speaking, 2017 saw my father-in-law succumbing to the terrible disease that is ALS. It was his experience with this monster that prompted the JFtC partnership with the ALS Society of Canada. Since Steve’s passing over the holidays a year ago, I have doubled down on my efforts to fight ALS. Please consider donating to our fundraising campaign or you can head over to our Red Bubble shop and get some great JFtC merchandise and 100% of the profits will go to the ALS Society of Canada. Together, with your support, we have raised over $1000 for The ALS Society of Canada.
On a personal note, I want to show my deep appreciation and admiration for the staff here at Jays From the Couch. This is a group of dedicated people who have joined me in the vision I had for this site. They have worked very hard to expand our presence. They do so giving their time and efforts freely. The writers at JFtC are a solid bunch of fans who have been an unbelievable support system for me. Please, join me in taking the time to acknowledge them.
Once again, THANK YOU and here’s to what promises to be an interesting 2019 season!
