Player of the Day

Sunday, April 7th POD goes to Yennsy Diaz

I was a bit surprised to see Diaz get a Double-A assignment out of the gates in 2019 but he shined in his Fisher Cats debut. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies managed just a 2nd inning single off the 22-yr-old righty.

After needing 31 pitches to get through the first two innings, Diaz needed just 8 pitches to retire the side in the 3rd and 6th innings and 9 pitches to dispatch the Rumble Ponies in the 4th inning.

Yennsy Diaz threw 49 of his 71 pitches for strikes. He induced 3 ground ball outs and 9 flyball outs.

Bo and Vlad Show

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. did not play

Bo Bichette played SS and batted leadoff for the Bisons. He went 0-for-3 with an error and 2 LOB. Bo is batting .133 in the early going.
