Player of the Day

Tuesday, April 9th POD goes to Reggie Pruitt

The speedy Pruitt is an outfield prospect in his second go-round with the Lansing Lugnuts. The 21-yr-old from Kennesaw, GA batted leadoff and played center field for the Bolts on Tuesday. He picked up a double and a home run while driving in 3 runs in the loss.

After lining out in the 1st inning, Pruitt came to the plate in the 2nd inning with Johnny Aiello (BB and SB) and Dominic Abbedessa (HBP) on 1st and 2nd base. Pruitt jumped on the first pitch sending left field for a run-scoring double. Pruitt was stranded at 2nd base on a Mc Gregory Contreras strikeout.

Abbadessa welcomed the Whitecaps new pitcher into the game walking on 6 pitches. Pruitt sent a 2-1 pitch over the left field wall, pulling the Lugnuts to with 2 runs, for his first of 2019. Pruitt struck out in the 7th inning and grounded out with Abbadessa (single) on 1st base and Nick Podkul on 2nd base (BB) to end the game.
