Player of the Day

Friday, April 12th POD goes to Alejandro Kirk

The 5-foot-9, 220lbs Lugnuts backstop continues to swing a hot bat with a 3-for-5 game on Friday. He is batting .379 with 3 doubles, a pair of home runs, and 5 RBI in 8 games.

Kirk got the Lugnuts on the board in the 1st inning with a solo shot to left center field. He led off the 4th inning with a single to right field and scored on Jordan Groshans first home run of 2019 to put the Lugnuts up 3-0.

Alejandro Kirk hit a one-out double in the 8th inning with the Bolts trailing 4-3. Groshans walked to put runners on 1st and 2nd. Hagen Danner struck out for the 2nd out. Kirk came across to score the tying run on a fielding error off the bat of Dominic Abbadessa.

The promising catcher grounded out in the 5th and 9th innings to account for his two other at-bats.
