Player of the Day

Monday, June 17th POD goes to Mc Gregory Contreras

Not much to pick from here but here we go. The 20-yr-old outfielder played 59 games for Vancouver in 2018, batting .260 with a .778OPS, 11 doubles, 4 triples, and 8 HR. I was hoping he’d take a step forward in 2019 as a member of the Lansing Lugnuts; unfortunately, he managed to bat just .211 with a .593OPS  and 51 strikeouts in 32 games.

The lack of production resulted in Contreras being returned to Vancouver to start the C’s season. Mc Gregory played LF and batted 6th. In the 1st inning, Contreras hit a ground ball to SS to scored Will Robertson on a throwing error. He doubled (1) in the 4th inning and extended to 3rd base on a wild pitch. Contreras scored on another wild pitch which resulted in a walk to Brett Wright.

In 3 games, Mc Gregory Contreras is batting .273 with a .697OPS.

Hit Streak

The Bo Bichette and Griffin Conine Show

Bo Bichette and the Buffalo Bisons had the day off. Bo is batting .239 with a .725OPS, 6 doubles, a triple, 2HR, and 10RBI.

Griffin Conine and Lugnuts are enjoying a few days off before the All-Star game. Conine is batting average to .353 with 29 strikeouts in 18 games.
