Thursday, June 27th POD goes to Logan Warmoth
The 23-yr-old former 1st round selection is hitting well over his last couple games, reaching base in 6 of his last 7 games. He is batting .294 in his last 10 games after batting .111 in his first 5 Double-A games.
Batting cleanup and playing 2B, Warmoth singled in the 1st and 6th inning. The former Tar heel tripled in the 8th inning, scoring Joshua Palacios with the Fisher Cats 2nd run. He scored on Kevin Smith’s 8th HR which proved to be the winner. He struck out in the 3rd inning, finishing 3-for-4 with a pair of singles, a triple, a run scored, and an RBI.
After batting .292 with a .803OPS in 36 games with the Dunedin Blue Jays, Warmoth is batting .263 with a double, a triple, 4RBI, 2SB, and 4/9 BB/K in 11 games at Double-A.
The Bo Bichette and Griffin Conine Show
Bo Bichette played both ends of Buffalo’s doubleheader, both at short and leading off. In GM1, Bo went hitless in four at-bats with a run scored, a stolen base, and a pair of strikeouts. He also left 5 men on base.
In GM2, Bo went hitless in two at-bats with a walk, a pair of strikeouts, and a stolen base.
Bo Bichette is batting .378 over his last 10 games and .288 in 28 AAA games. He has 8 doubles, 18 runs, a triple, 3 HR, and 10 stolen bases.
Griffin Conine was moved out of the 3rd spot in the lineup, batting 2nd and playing RF for the Lugnuts. Conine went hitless in 2 at-bats with a run scored, a walk, and a strikeout.
