Top Performers:

Player of the Day

Sunday, June 30th POD goes to Kevin Vicuna

The D-Jays 21-yr-old infielder played SS and batted 2nd. He went 4-for-6 with 3 runs scored while pushing one run across and stealing a pair of bases. A big 4-hit game was a welcomed sight as Vicuna has struggled in June watching his batting average dip as low as .241 from .263 on June 1st.

Vicuna singled in the 1st, stole his 13th base with a successful swipe of 2nd base but was left stranded. He singled in the 2nd inning, driving in Samad Taylor with the D-Jays 3rd run. Vicuna scored on a Cullen Large 2-run double.

Kevin singled again in the 4th inning and scored on Large’s second double to tie the game 6-6. Vicuna hit his 4th single in the 6th inning and stole 2nd (14). Demi Orimoloye scored Cal Stevenson and Vicuna with a 2-run single to CF, giving the D-Jays an 8 to 7 lead.

The native of Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela, reached on a fielders choice in the 7th inning, scoring Chavez Young with Dunedin’s 11th run.

In 69 games, Vicuna is batting .255 with .649OPS and 11 doubles, 2 triples, and a HR. He has 14 stolen base and 21/54 BB/K.

The Bo Bichette and Griffin Conine Show

Bo Bichette had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run scored, a double, and a walk. The 3-hit game pushed Bichette’s batting average up to .293. He now has 9 doubles with the Bisons. Bo is batting .389 over his last 10 games.

Griffin Conine went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts. Conine is striking out at 34.8K% pace with a 10.7BB% and .337ISO. He’s been a very productive member of the Lugnuts with .465wOBA and 191wRC+ despite his poor strikeout numbers.
