Player of the Day

Tuesday, July 2nd POD goes to Ryan Noda

A regular to the POD in 2018, Ryan Noda has not been as loud in the boxscore as a member of the Dunedin Blue Jays. Playing 1B and batting 7th, the 23-yr-old Noda went 2-for-4 with a run scored, a double, a triple, and four RBI.

Noda put the D-Jays on the board with his 16th double the season, scoring Chavez Young. Noda scored on a Nick Podkul single to CF to give the D-Jays a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning. The former 15th round selection tripled in his next at-bat of the 2nd inning, cashing in Alejandro Kirk, Demi Orimoloye, and Norberto Obeso, breaking the game wide open, 8 to 0.

Noda struck out in his other two at-bats, not seeing/taking a ball in either at-bat.

Ryan Noda is batting .235 over his last 10 games, after batting .172 with 4 doubles, and a HR in June (20GP). Overall, Noda owns a .758OPS with a .238 batting average and .359OBP. Noda has 38 walks and 84 strikeouts in 66 games while hitting 16 doubles, a triple, and 6HR.

The Bo Bichette and Griffin Conine Show

Bo Bichette and the Buffalo Bisons were rained out. The 21-yr-old SS is batting .410 over the past 10 games with 7 stolen base and 9 runs scored. In 32 games with the Bisons, Bichette is batting .298 with a .830OPS

Griffin Conine extended his hit streak to 5 games, going 3-for-4 with a run scored, a solo HR, and a strikeout.  The Lansing’s RF has pushed his batting average from .306 to .330 over the hit streak and is batting .297 over his last 10 games. He has 6 doubles, 23RBI, and a 1.081OPS in 29 games.
