Player of the Day

Sunday, July 14th POD goes to Ryan Noda

The 23-yr-old hit 20HR in 124 games with the Lansing Lugnuts in 2018. He was expected to be a major part of the Dunedin Blue Jays offense. Unfortunately, after a strong April (.293BA, 6 doubles, 2HR, and 16RBI) Ryan Noda struggled with the batting average in May (.219) and June (.172) but still did well getting on-base with .341 and .354 OBP.

Playing 1B and batting 5th for Dunedin, Ryan Noda walked in the 1st inning but was stranded on 2nd as the D-Jays scored 3 runs in the inning. In the 3rd inning, Noda was HBP but was stranded again.

In the 5th inning, Ryan Noda stepped to the plate with Cullen Large (single) and Demi Orimoloye (single) on base. With the count 2-2, Ryan Noda (8) sent a ball over the RF wall for a 6 to 4 lead.

In the 8th inning, Ryan Noda drove in Demi Orimoloye with a double to RF to give Dunedin an 11 to 6 lead. The former 15th round selection finished 2-for-3 with an HR, a double, a walk, and 4RBI.

Overall, Ryan Noda is batting .239 with a .374OB and .791OPS. He has 18 doubles, a triple, and 8SB.

The Bo Bichette and Griffin Conine Show

Bo Bichette went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a caught stealing. Bo is batting .298 with .842OPS with 14 doubles, a triple, 5HR, 28 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases.

Griffin Conine got a much needed day off to clear his head after striking out in 8 of his last 13 at-bats. He is still batting .303 with a .998OPS in 37 games with Lansing.
