Sunday, August 4th POD goes to Davis Schnieder

 

The 20-yr-old INF began the year with the Vancouver C’s but last just 17 games before being sent down to Bluefield. Schnieder batted just .145 with 3 doubles, 7RBI, 8/18 BB/K with the Canadians.

 

His bat has come alive since joining Bluefield, collecting hits over the first 7 games with 5 2-hit games.

 

The former 2017 28th round selection played 3rd base and batted 6th. He hit his 4th HR in the 4th inning off a 1-0 pitch to cash in Miguel Hiraldo and PK Morris. In the 7th, he singled to LF to bring Leonardo Jimenez across home plate but was thrown out attempting to take 2nd base. Schneider got things started in the 9th inning with his 7th double and tied the game at 7-7 when he scored off an Andres Guerra double.

 

In 15 game with Bluefield, Davis Schneider is batting .339 with 7 doubles, 4HR, 14RBI, 4 walks, 16 strikeouts, and 14 runs scored.

 

The Kevin Smith and Griffin Conine Show

 

Kevin Smith wasted little time snapping his 0-for-14 streak with a 2nd inning single in his 1st at-bat. Smith also walked once, stole two bases, and struck out twice. He is batting .211 9 stolen bases and 25 walks.
