Jays From the Couch highlights games played by Toronto Blue Jays minor league affiliates on April 9th, 2016. The system went 1-for-4
Mother Nature continues to screw with the schedule, but the Blue Jays system managed to get 4 games in. The Buffalo Bisons played two, Dunedin came out on the wrong end of a slugfest and Lansing’s 9th inning comeback fell short. Two of the systems top ranked prospects where roughed up in their outings and their was no sign of Anthony Alford.

Bisons get their first win of 2016.

At the Plate
Bisons jump out to a 2-0 lead in in the top of the 1st, then add another run in the 3rd before Pawtucket got on the board in the 4th. Domonic Brown and Casey Kotchman each had a single and a double, driving all 3 Bison runs.

On the Mound
Scott Diamon (W, 1-0) struck out 5 in 5, allowing one run on 4 hits. Pat Venditte and David Aardsma (SV1) each pitched an inning, not allowing a hit.

Bisons drop the second game of the double header, but have a chance to earn a split tomorrow in the rubber match of the 4-game series.
Final in the nightcap, Sam Travis sends home the winning run for the PawSox 4-3, #Bisons split the DH today.

At the Plate
The Herd jump out in front, 3-2 in the top of the 2nd, when Andy Burns and Domonic Brown hit back-to-back 2-out RBI singles driving in Kotchman, Alexi Casilla, and Humberto Quintero. Pawtucket would tie the game up in the 5th and take the lead in the 7th in walk off fashion.
On the Mound
Chad Jenkins, Chad Girodo, Ryan Tepera, and Pat McCoy (L, 0-1) surrendered 11 hits over 6.1IP, walking 2 and striking out 5. Jenkins allowed 2 runs, while Tepera and McCoy each allowed one.

Richard Urena and J.D. Davis each had a pair of hits, with Davis hitting a double and a HR for 3 RBI. The D-Jays collected 8 hits, 1BB, and 15K. Christian Lopes, Ryan McBroom, Jason Lablebijian and Derrick Loveless each had one hit.
On the Mound
Starter Ryan Borucki was touched up in 4.1IP. Carlos Ramirez allowed a run on 2 hits over 2.2IP while striking out 5 and walking one. Matt Dermody threw two shutout innings of relieve with 4K’s.

The Lugnuts finally played their Season/Home Opener, losing to the Great Lake Loons.

Andrew Guillotte, Lane Thomas, and Juan Kelly each had two hit games, as the Lugnuts collected 8 hits, 4 walks, and 14 strike outs. Jacob Anderson, Guillotte and Gunnar Heidt each hit doubles.
On the Mound
Jon Harris struggled with control and exited before finishing the 1st down 0-3. Josh DeGraaf didn’t allow a run in 2.1IP. Tayler Saucedo (L, 0-1) allowed one run over 3IP with 2BB and 2K. Ryan Cook allowed one run on 2 hits over 2IP with a BB and 5K.
