Jays Nest Podcast Ep70: Early Blue Jays Struggles & More

Jays From the Couch brings you Episode 70 of the Jays Nest Podcast. This week, we discuss the ups and downs of the very young 2016 season for the Toronto Blue Jays

Episode 70 of the Jays Nest Podcast features lots of discussion around the early season tire spinning of the Toronto Blue Jays. They haven’t been able to gain any momentum thus far and that has some folks upset. There indeed have been struggles to dissect, but there are also some highlights worth discussing…so we do. We discuss what Jose Bautista‘s current play means for his impending free agency. All this and reader questions to satisfy your Blue Jays craving.

The Jays’ Nest Podcast- Talking Toronto Blue Jays – Jays Nest #70- Blue Jays Early Struggles & More!

In This Week’s Episode:

  • We started our chat with a look at some smaller news items: Roberto Osuna dealing with a blister counts as news, right? As well, catcher, Humberto Quintero was released.
  • In the run of a season, there are going to be rough patches. We dig into the rough patch for the Blue Jays first base tandem of Justin Smoak and Chris Colabello. This duo was so good for the club last season, but has not lived up to that in the early goings of 2016.
  • It seems that the popular talk in Blue Jays Land is about the struggles, but there have been some bright spots, believe it or not. We offer up Aaron Sanchez and his starting pitching brethren as examples.
  • We discuss our preferences for the batting order with the recent insertion of Michael Saunders in the leadoff spot.
  • In this edition of our Hot Takes, I make the argument that Jose Bautista is not helping himself in the early goings, despite his otherworldly ability to walk.
  • We wrap up with some reader questions, as always.
