The Toronto Blue Jays Minor League system went 2-2 on games played on April 19, 2016

 

 

Buffalo Bisons (5-8)

The loss their 4th in the past 5 games, losing 0-7 to Scranton/WB.

At the Plate

The Herd committed 4 errors, collected 5 hits, walked once and struck out 7 times.

Matt Dominguez collected 2 hits. Andy Burns, Jesus Montero, and Jio Mier each collected singles in the shut out.

On the Mound

The RailRiders scored 3 runs in the 3rd and 5th, adding one in the 7th. Scott Diamond allowed 6 runs (4ER) on 5 hits over 4.2IP, taking his first loss of the season. Pat McCoy allowed one run with a walk and 3K’s in 2.1IP. Bobby Korecky pitched a one hit, no run 9th.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (5-6)

The Fisher Cats beat Hartford 7-2 to improve to 5-6.

At the Plate

The Fisher Cats scored 2 in the 2nd and 5 in the 4th on 9 hits, 4 walks and 5 strike outs.

The bottom of the lineup did all the damage with the top 4 going 1-for-15. Jon Berti, playing and batting 3rd, went 1-for-3 with a walk and steal (8).

Catcher Jorge Saez led the way for NH with 4-RBI and went 3-for-4, hitting 2 doubles, out of the 8th spot. Ian Parmley went 2-for-3, scoring 2 runs and a walk. K.C. Hobson, Matt Dean, and Shane Optiz each collected singles.

On the Mound

Luis Santos picked up his first win as a Fisher Cat, throwing 6 innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) and holding the Yard Goats to 7 hits. John Stilson and Chris Smith finished off the game with 3 shutout innings.

At the Plate

Dunedin scored 7 runs on 12 hits with 9 walks and 5 strike outs. The D-Jays got 3 home runs from Christian Lopes, Ryan McBroom, and Jonathan Davis. Emilio Guerrero continues to feast of Florida State pitching since returning from the DL with 3 hits.

Lopes, Danny Jansen, and J.D. Davis collected 2 hits each with Jason Leblebijian, McBroom, D.J. Davis and Derrick Loveless contributing with one a piece.

D.J. Davis stole 2 bags and Jansen stole his 3rd of ’16.

On the Mound

Starter Ryan Borucki struggled giving up 6 runs on 8 hits over 3.0IP. He allowed one home run, while not striking out any and walking 2. He was lifted in the 4th after allowing two batters to reach.

Alonzo Gonzalez (L, 0-1) and Chris Rowley didn’t fair much better allowing 3 runs each over 5 inning of relief.

Juan Kelly (3-4), Ryan Hissey (2-4), and Josh Almonte (2-4) each had multi-hit games with Andrew Guillotte, Connor Panas, and Carl Wise chipping in with hits of their own.

Lane Thomas (0-4), Almonte, and Wise (1-3) each collected an RBI. Carl Wise drove in Ryan Hissey in the 9th for the win.

On the Mound

Taylor Saucedo allowed 2 runs (1ER) on 3 hits over 6.1IP. Taylor threw 49 of his 65 pitches for strikes dominating with no walk and 3 strike outs.

Dusty Isaacs got the win, but not before allowing an inherited run to score to tie the game. Isaacs went 2.2IP, allowing 2 hits and striking out one.
