Blue Jays Minor League Recap: 26/04/16

The Toronto Blue Jays Minor League system went 1-3, on games played on April 26th, 2016. New Hampshire was No-Hit



Buffalo Bisons (8-11)

The Herd fell to the Red Wings in 14 innings, but not without a fight. Down 8-4 heading into the bottom of 14th innings and the game seemingly out of reach. Buffalo scored 3 runs in their half inning, but fell short, 8-7.

At the Plate

Buffalo scored 7 runs on 13 hits, 4 walks, 9 strike outs and a stolen base.

Domonic Brown had three hits. Andy Burns, Jesus Montero, and Junior Lake each had 2 hits.

Montero and Alexi Casilla both hit home runs and Lake hit the only Bisons no-HR extra base hit. Brown and Montero collected 2-RBI, with Dalton Pompey and Casilla chipping in with one RBI each.

On the Mound

Starter Wade LeBlanc allowed 2 runs on 8 hits over 6.0IP, striking out 6 and walking one batter. Chad Jenkins and Chad Girodo combined for 1.2IP of shutout relief following LeBlanc.

Heading into the 9th with a 4-2 lead, David Aardsma allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and blown the save… to extra innings we go.

Boby Korecky pitched 3.2IP of no-hit extra inning relief, striking out 5 and walking one. Ben Rowen (L, 0-2) allowed 4 runs on 4 hits over 2.0IP.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats were No-Hit by the Trenton Thunder, losing 4-0 and falling 3 games below .500.

The Fisher Cats walked twice and struck out 7 times.

John Anderson (L, 1-2) allowed 4 runs in the 5th, lasting 4.0 innings. He walked 3 and struck out 3.

Brady Dragmire and Chris Smith pitched 4.0 innings and allowed 2-hits combined. Dragmire struck out 3 and Smith struck out 4.

Dunedin Blue Jays  (11-8)

Dunedin Blue Jays were beat up bad in this one, 11-5. Tampa pounded out 18 hits.

At the Plate

The D-Jays scored single runs in the first, second, and 9th, with a 2 spot coming the bottom of the 7th. They collected 10 hits, 3 walks and 9 strike outs.

Micheal Bourn, Jonathan Davis, Jason Leblebijian, and Danny Jansen each collected 2 hits. Ryan McBroom, and Derrick Loveless chipped in with one hit each.

Bourn and Jansen drove in two runs with McBroom driving in the D-Jays other run.

On the Mound

Ryan Borucki (L, 1-2) allowed 6 runs on 7 hits and was victimized by the long ball. Ryan allowed 4 home runs on his 2.2 innings of work.

Carlos Ramirez allowed two in 2.1IP, Tim Mayza pitched 2.0 shutout innings and Chris Rowley allowed 3 runs in 2.0IP.

Lansing Lugnuts  (9-7)

The Lugnuts scored the games only run in the top of the 9th inning for a 1-0 win in the series opener.

At the Plate

Lansing managed one run on 6 hits, 2 walks and 8 strike outs.

Gunnar Heidt, Lane Thomas, JC Cardenas, and Carl Wise collected hits with Wise being the only Lugnut to collect 2-hits. Jacob Anderson drove in the clubs only run and Heidt had the clubs only extra base hit.

On the Mound

Starter Francisco Rios shutout the Snapper in his 5.2IP. Rios dominated with 9 strikeouts and one walk, while limiting Beloit to 3 hits.

Josh DeGraaf (W, 2-0) continues to dominate A-Ball with another 2.1IP of no-hit relief. Josh didn’t walk a batter and struck out 2.

Colton Turner converted his 3rd save with a clean 9th inning.
