New Hampshire Fisher Cats  (8-13, 5th)

The Fisher Cats start May off with a win, 3-1 over Binghamton Mets and avoid the sweep.


At the Plate

NH scored all three of their runs in the bottom half of the 1st. Rowdy Tellez, Matt Dean and Jorge Saez each collected an RBI in the win. Dean was the only Fisher Cat with an extra base hit, his first double of the season. Jorge Flores chipped in with a hit.


On the Mound

Luis Santos struck out 7 over 6 strong innings. Santos allowed one run on four hits, throwing 90 pitches and inducing 6 ground ball outs.

Danny Barnes (2.0IP) and Wil Browning (SV, 2) combined to pitched 3.0 no-hit innings in relief of Santos. Both relief pitchers struck out one batter.

Lansing Lugnuts  (13-8, 2nd)

The Lansing Lugnuts are 7-3 in their past 10 games with 5-3 win over the Timber Rattlers on Sunday. The victory gave the Lugnuts the series win, their second in a row.


At the Plate

Lansing produced 5 runs on 6 hits, going 3-for-7 with RISP. They walked twice and struck out 12 times. Carl Wise had two hits. Connor Panas produced two runs, going 1-for-4 with 3 strike outs. Jacob Anderson tripled, his first of the year, driving in 2 runs and struck out twice.

Ryan Hissey and Josh Almonte chipped in with one hit each.


On the Mound

Francisco Rios continues to pitch well into the second month of the season, getting his first win of the season. Rios struck out 5 batters over 6 innings, while allowing one earned run on 5 hits.

Starlyn Suriel (1.2IP) and Dusty Isaacs (SV,3) combined to pitch 3 innings of 1-hit relief in the victory. Suriel struck out 2, needing just 19 pitches to retire 5 of the 6 batters he faced.
