Buffalo Bisons (16-19, 6th)

Buffalo dropped game 1 to Norfolk, 2-5.


At the Plate

The Herd scored 2 runs on 8 hits, with Dalton Pompey registering the only RBI.

Buffalo scored a run in the 8th and 9th in an attempt to make it game but the 5-0 deficit was too much to overcome.

Pompey was the only Buffalo batter to register 2-hits. Pompey, Domonic Brown, and Matt Dominguez each hit doubles.


On the Mound

Roberto Hernandez allowed 4 runs on 8 hits over 5 innngs. He walked one and struck out 2.

Pat McCoy and Pat Venditte no-hit the Tides in the 6th and 7th, before giving way to Colt Hynes who allowed one run on 2 hits in the 8th.

Dunedin Blue Jays  (15-20, 4th)

Dunedin played a double-header with Brevard County on Friday, losing game 1, 5-7, and winning game 2, 6-2.

Game 1

At the Plate

Looks who is back.

The D-Jays scored 2 runs in the 2nd and 6th with one run coming in the 5th.

Ryan McBroom had two hits, stroking his 5th and knocking in his 17th RBI. Jason Leblebijian also had 2-hits, while Travis, D.J. Davis, and Mike Reeves added one hit each.

Davis hit his 2nd triple, driving in 2 runs and Jonathan Davis brought in the D-Jays other run.


On the Mound

Kyle Westwood (0-5, 8.27ERA) continues to look overmatched in Florida, allowing 7 runs on 12 hits over 5 innings.

Carlos Ramirez pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief.

Game 2

At the Plate

The D-Jays scored a run in the 2nd and 5 in the 5th in this 7 inning game.

Richard Urena, and Jason Leblebijian each had two hits, with Leblebijian hitting his 4th homerun.

Michael De La Cruz had 2-RBI, with Urena, Leblebijian, D.J. Davis, Dickie Joe Thon and David Harris chipping with an RBI of their own.

D.J. stole his 9th and 10th bases of ’16, Thon swiped his 7th and Urena and Harris were caught stealing in the 3rd and 2nd respectively


On the Mound

Chris Rowely made his first start, throwing 3 innings. Chris struck out 6 and walked one. His only run came via a home run he allowed in the 2nd inning.

Conor Fisk picked up the win, his first, with 3 innings of one run releif. He struck out 2 and didn’t walk a batter.

Colton Turner retired all three batters he faced in the 7th, striking out 2.

Lansing Lugnuts  (17-15, 5th)

Lansing have lost 5 of their past 6 games with a 2-15 defeat to South Bend on Friday.


At the Plate

The Lugnuts scored 2 runs on 5 hits. DH Max Pentecost collected 2 hits, Juan Kelly hit a double and JC Cardenas collected a single.

Ryan Hissey stole his second base of the season and Kelly (3) stole home in Lansing’s 2-run 3rd inning.


On the Mound

Ryan Borucki fared much better in his first start since being demoted from Advanced-A Dunedin. Ryan allowed one run on 3 hits over 5 innings. Borucki walked one and struck out 5, throwing 55 of his 78 pitches for strikes.

Unfortunately the bullpen let Borucki down with Josh DeGraaf (4R), Gustavo Pierre (4R), Dan Lietz (4R) and 3B Aaron Attaway (2R) allowing 14 runs to cross the plate in the final three innings.
