Buffalo Bisons (24-22, 5th)

Buffalo won it’s 3rd in row with a 2-0 win over Columbus on Wednesday. They’ll look for the sweep on Thursday.


At the Plate

The Bisons scored 2 runs on 5 hits. Buffalo got a run in the 4th when Darrell Ceciliani walked, stole 2nd, advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch and finally scored on Matt Dominguez single to left field. They would add another run a inning later when Junior Lake sent his 4th home run over the left field wall to lead off the inning.

Dalton Pompey was the only Bison to collect 2 hits, going 2-for-4 with his 6th double of the season.


On the Mound

Chris Leroux limited the Clippers to just 5 hits over 7 while striking out 3. Leroux evened his record to 3-3 and lowered his ERA from 3.79 to 3.20 with a game score of 70. He threw 66 of his 95 pitches for strikes and finished with 10 ground ball outs.

Ryan Tepera earned his 4th save with 2 no-hit innings in relief.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats  (20-24, 4th)

The Fisher Cats loss their 3rd in a row and are 3-7 over their last 10 games after falling to Trenton 4-6. They will look to avoid the sweep with a 10;30 start today.


At the Plate

NH scored 2 runs in the 4th and 9th on 10 hits and 3 walks. They were 2-for-9 with RISP and got multi-hit games from Jorge Flores and Dwight Smith Jr., who hit his 4th home run and drove in 2 RBI.

Roemon Fields stole his 14th and 15th bases, going 1-for-4 with a walk.


On the Mound

Casey Lawrence took his 3rd loss, allowing 3 runs in the 1st and 2nd before settling down to make it through 6 innings. Lawrence allowed a 2nd inning home run to the rehabbing Alex Rodriguez, struck out 4 and walked one, while allowing 6 runs on 8 hits.

Jason Berken provided the Fisher Cats with 2 innings of one hit relief.

Dunedin Blue Jays  (20-27, 5th)

The D-Jays loss 5-12 to Lakeland.


At the Plate

The Blue Jays scored 5 runs on 9 hits, with 3 runs in the 1st and 2 in the 8th, but striking out 14 times didn’t help matters.

Emilio Guerrero was the only Dunedin batter not to collect a hit in the loss. Jonathan Davis had a big day at the plate with a single, double, triple and batted 2 runs.

Ryan McBroom, and D.J. Davis drove in the clubs other runs with Richard Urena and Jonathan Davis scored 2 runs each.

Urena and Jonathan Davis each stole a base.


On the Mound

Conner Greene allowed 7 unearned runs on 6 hits, a home run over 3 innings taking his 3rd lose.

Conor Fisk allowed another 5 runs over the next 4 innings, before Brad Allen was able to put up 2 shut out innings to finish the game.

Lansing are on a roll with their 4 win in a row and 6th in the past 10 games.

At the Plate

Lansing needed just 8 hits to score 5 runs, scoring 2 runs in the third and 3 run in the 7th.

Lane Thomas was the Lugnut not to register a hit in the win with Andrew Guillotte, Gunnar Heidt, Josh Almonte, and Carl Wise each driving in a run.

Ryan Hissey, Almonte and Wise each hit doubles.


On the Mound

Ryan Borucki threw 6 shut out innings, striking out 6 and walking 2. Borucki picked up his first Lansing win, limiting the TinCaps to just 5 hits.

Patrick Murphy allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over the final 3 innings, but held on for the save.
