Buffalo Bisons (26-23, 4th)

The Bisons have won 8 of their past 10 with a 3-0 win over the Toledo to even the series.


At the Plate

Buffalo scored 2 in the 2nd when Matt Dominguez scored Jesus Montero and Darrell Ceciliani for an early lead. Each pitcher threw up zeros until Andy Burns doubled in A.J. Jimenez for Buffalo’s 3rd run in the 9th.

Ceciliani (3-5), Jesus Montero (2-5) and Matt Dominguez (2-4) each had multi-hit games. Montero extended his hit streak to 8 games.


On the Mound

Wade LeBlanc (W 5-1, 1.29ERA), Bo Schultz and Ryan Tepera (SV5) combined to shut out the Mud Hens on 5 hits. LeBlanc struck out 5 and walked 2 over 6.1 innings and Tepera converted a 2 inning save. The infielders turned 3 double plays to preserve the shut out.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats  (21-26, 4th)

The Fisher Cats got a good performance from their starter, snapping a 5 game losing streak. NH won 3-1 over Reading.


At the Plate

NH scored 3 runs on 7 hits, getting contributions throughout the lineup. The Fisher Cats scored single runs in the 4th, 5th and 8th innings as Roemon Fields, Dwight Smith Jr. and Rowdy Tellez each cashed in one RBI each.


On the Mound

Shane Dawson struggled with the strike zone, throwing 50% of his 88 pitches for balls and walking 5 Fightin Phils. Dawson was able to limit the damage to one run with 7 ground ball outs, 4 strike outs and just 4 hits over 6 innings for his 2nd win of the year.

Colt Hynes and  Murphy Smith (SV2) held the Phils in check over the final 3 innings.

Dunedin Blue Jays  (22-28, 5th)

Dunedin finish the 5 game home stand 3-2 with a 6-11 loss to Daytona.


At the Plate

The D-Jays made a last minute attempt at a comeback with a 4-run 8th and a run in the 9th, but it was too little too late.

Derrick Loveless hit his 2nd home run, a solo shot, in the 8th and Jonathan Davis (2-RBI), Richard Urena, Emilio Guerrero, and Dickie Joe Thon drove in the Blue Jays runs. Guerrero and Thon were the only D-Jays to register multi-hit games.


On the Mound

Kyle Westwood (0-6, 7.30ERA) gave up 6 in 6 innings, coughing up 2 in the 4th and 4 more in the 6th.

Adonys Cardona (2R) and Tim Mayza (3) each struggled in their one inning of relief.

Some times starter Brad Allen had a one hit, shut out inning to finish the game.

Lansing Lugnuts  (24-23, 5th)

Lansing drops their 3rd in a row getting demolished 3-17 at the hands of South Bend.


At the Plate

The day started off well for Lansing with a Gunnar Heidt (4) lead off home run in the 1st. They would score 2 runs in the top of the 5th before the wheel fell off and the slaughter began with 6 in the bottom half of the 5th.

Heidt accounted for 3 of the Lugnuts 4 hits and 2 of the Lugnuts 3 RBI’s. Connor Panas (2) chipped in with a solo home run in the 5th.


On the Mound

Jonathan Harris took his first loss of the year with a 8 run stinker. Josh DeGraaf allowed one run in 2.2 innings of Harris, allowing both inherited runs to score.

Gustavo Pierre was lite up for 6 runs. Pierre walked 3 and gave up 3 hits while registering just one out. Dan Lietz came on with the bases loaded and allowed all three inherited runners to score.
