Buffalo Bisons (31-25, T-1st)

Well look who is in a 3-way tie for first place! The Buffalo Bisons continue to tear it up with their 5th win. They will look for the 4-game sweep over Syracuse on Sunday after Saturday’s 13-4 win.


At the Plate

The Bisons threw a 19 hit attack the Chiefs, scoring single runs in each of the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th innings. The Herd had a 4-run 7th and 5-run 9th to put the Chiefs to bed.

You are going to have some offensive hero with a 13-run attack; unfortunately, I don’t have time to cover all of them…so here we go

Lead-off man Dalton Pompey led the charge with 4 hits and 3-RBI. Joining Pompey with 3-RBI was Casey Kotchman, who also chipped in with the Bisons only HR of the day in the 6th.

Andy Burns had 3 hits, while Jesus Montero, Junior Lake, Tony Sanchez, and Alexi Casilla joined Kotchman with 2-hits.


On the Mound

Chris Leroux picked up his 4th win, allowing 3 runs over 6 innings.

Pat McCoy allowed one run in the 7th in his one inning of relief. Ben Rowen and Chad Girodo closed the game out with one shut out inning each.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats  (25-29, 4th)

The Fisher Cats loss, 5-6, in 10 innings to the 1st place Reading Fightin Phils


At the Plate

The two clubs traded punched as they both scored 2 in the 1st and single runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings.

Melky Mesa hit 2 home runs, a 2-run shot in the 1st and a solo shot in the 3rd, driving in 3 of the clubs 5 runs.

Roemon Fields, Matt Dean and Christian Lopes each had two hits, with Lopes driving in the clubs other run.


On the Mound

Casey Lawrence allowed 5 runs on 11 hits over 6 innings. He surrendered 2 home runs, while striking out 6.

Brady Dragmire pitched 2 shut out innings, needing just 14 pitches and inducing 5 ground balls.

Danny Barnes took the loss, surrendering a home run in the 10th.

Dunedin Blue Jays  (25-31, 5th)

Dunedin loses 4-9 to Palm Beach.


At the Plate

Emilio Guerrero accounted for all the D-Jays offence with a 3rd inning grand slam, his 3rd home run.

Dickie Joe Thon stole his 11th base, while Derrick Loveless, Jonathan Davis and Mike Reeves each collected singles.


On the Mound

Justin Shafer is still looking for his first win after surrendering 7 runs on 9 hits over 4 innings.

Conor Fisk didn’t fare much better allowing 2 runs on 6 hits over 2 innings.

Adonys Cardona pitched a scoreless innings to finish the game.

Overall the club walked 6 batters and struck out 2.

Lane Thomas hit his 3rd home run in the 2nd with Juan Kelly on base for a 2-run shot; unfortunately, he also committed 3 fielding errors which led to one unearned run.


On the Mound

Ryan Borucki took the loss with 3 runs on 8 hits over 5.2 innings.

Ryan Cook came on to pitch the final 3.1 innings, allowing one run on 9th inning home run.
